Private 1 on 1 Training
Similar to a mechanic examining a car before writing the repair slip, I need to gather information about you and your dog before I can recommend a training plan. The length of this process varies by situation and none of it commits you to sign up for training. It can consist of one or more of the following steps:
Step 1: Fill out an interest/application form (click here to complete)
Step 2: A free 15 minute phone consultation (click here to book)
Step 3: A free in-home evaluation (click here to schedule)
Step 4: Start training
In the evaluation we discuss concerns, goals, and more. We discuss how dogs communicate and unpack where the problems come from. We discuss how to encourage and stop behaviors and dissect what all your dog needs to be successful.
Oftentimes training can start immediately after the evaluation, within the same session, and other times I need more time to develop of training plan. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Before any training is started, I provide guidance on what program will work best for you and your dog and eliminate any confusion you might have about training. You’ll leave the evaluation or first session knowing what your dog needs in order to be successful.
My approach to training is play and relationship based and doesn’t require you to constantly “pay” your dog with food or treats. You’ll learn how to eliminate behaviors without having to distract them or maintain certain distances from triggers. There’s no understanding confusing terminology, no tricks, or lengthy protocols—just effective training that works in the real world and simply makes sense.
More about my training programs:
“From Chaos to Cooperation”
In this program I work with dedicated owners to turn young, energetic, out-of-control dogs into cooperative and controllable companions. My approach uses play and the dogs motivation to teach clear communication and important lifestyle skills. It creates a relationship where the dog WANTS to work with you & not against you — where the dog sees you as the coach, the referee, and the teammate.
We focus on:
Leash walking manners— without the embarrassment, frustration, or danger you might be experiencing now
Improving your dog’s overall listening skills — goodbye stubbornness and selective hearing
Putting an end to problem behaviors—for good, not just in the moment
Basic obedience commands like:
sit
stay
drop it
lay down
come when called
Getting cooperation in the face of excitement
The ability to come when called — even around squirrels
Dropping an item from their mouth — without chasing them around the house
Ending a game of fetch because you said so — no matter how bad they want to continue
After this program you’ll no longer be embarrassed to take your dog in public or worried to host friends and family in your home. Together you’ll benefit from the purpose-filled relationship you build that extends far beyond treats, toys, your dogs adorable looks and their sweet cuddles. You’ll have the confidence and capability to handle any situation—without second-guessing yourself, and a dog that willingly follows your lead. The chaos that once filled your evenings will be a thing of the past. You won’t just experience peace in your home—you’ll feel it within yourself and in the connection you share with your dog.
“From Puppyhood to Partnership”
This is a modified version of “From Chaos to Cooperation,” to accommodate all things puppy. This program helps rambunctious puppies transform into well mannered, fun, young dogs. Together we’ll cultivate games with shared goals that develop a focus and an overall stable dog later in life. Your pup will learn foundational skills like sit, stay, drop it,lay down and come when called. We’ll also cover the essentials of house/potty training, crate training, leash walking, and how to curb puppy nipping/biting and other naughty behaviors like jumping up.
You’ll get real answers and guidance about socialization— the big looming concept everyone says is so important but few truly understand. Dogs are social and emotional beings that require the right experiences at young ages to develop properly. Navigate this period correctly and you’ll have a dog that is easy to take into public. “From Puppyhood to Partnership” alleviates the overwhelm and allows you to enjoy your puppy. I recommend starting this program within the first couple weeks your puppy comes home.
“Operation Off-leash”
This is reserved for approved advanced applicants only. Recall and relationship are the two biggest concentrations during the program. If you are interested in hiking off leash, visiting dog friendly beaches, exploring wide open fields, and/or participating in other outings where running free and fulfilling your dog is part of your daily lifestyle, please email Jordan to apply for this program.
Virtual Session
45 minutes - $75
These sessions can help break down bigger training problems or trouble shoot smaller issues you might be having with your dog. Often times owners just need pointed in the right direction. These quicker sessions are easier to schedule and can be great for knowledgable owners that want to roll up their sleeves and get to work right away.
Virtual sessions are also a great resource for troubleshooting topics like potty training or for a “pre-puppy” do’s and don’ts session before you bring home your new family member. While your dog does not need to be present, I do suggest having a pen and paper ready to take notes.
